RIVER CHURCH
Anointed by the Spirit of the Lord to release freedom and new life
From Isaiah 61 and Luke 4Who are we?
River Church is an Elim pentecostal church in Canning Town, East London. We are a congregation of lively, spirit-filled believers committed to seeing the Kingdom of God come around us. Set free by Jesus's victory on the cross, we are commissioned to set others free!
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.
Galatians 5:1We preach the Good News, minister baptism, deliverance and healing, disciple new believers, study God's word together, seek emotional and mental renewal, live as a family drawn from many different backgrounds and cultures, pray without ceasing and worship the Lord in Spirit and truth.
Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvellous things!
Psalm 98 5:1You are very welcome to visit, to worship with us, or to find out more about our faith.
Our regular weekly meeting is on Sunday at 11:00 - 1:30pm.

What do we believe?
We are a Christian church with mainstream protestant beliefs. We believe that Jesus Christ is the incarnate, crucified and risen Son of God, and that those who believe in him will not suffer God's righteous wrath and punishment but receive eternal life. We believe that the Bible is God's Word and that the Holy Spirit is alive and active.
Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew 5:16Since 2020 we have been operating under the vision Anointed by the Spirit of the Lord to release freedom and new life, believing that the promises of Luke 4 and Isaiah 61 are God's particular calling to us at this time.
Where do we meet?
We meet in buildings owned by River Christian Centre in the heart of Canning Town, East London. Our main services take place in a large 1930s chapel with plenty of space for free worship, dance and fellowship. The buildings themselves are of historic interest: the chapel is Grade II Listed and part of the complex is Locally Listed.
For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.
Matthew 18:20When do we meet?
We hold a regular Sunday service of worship at 11:00 - 1:30pm. Refreshments and a light lunch are served and the congregation often fellowship together in our buildings afterwards. The service is normally broadcast on our Youtube Channel.
Daily morning prayer meetings are accessible via an online link for church members and friends.
We hold a monthly bring-and-share fellowship meal after service on the final Sunday of each month, which can be an opportunity to try foods from a wide variety of cultures.
Our life of fellowship continues through the week with other events on site and in our local community.
Special events take place most months and can be found on our calendar, together with events and services with our partner organisations.
